| Many state boards of bar examiners or bar committees require a certification from academic institutions attended by the bar applicant. Bar certifications for alumni from ALL BU schools are completed by the Director of Pre-Law Services, in the Harpur Academic Advising Office. |
| PLEASE DO NOT
SEND THESE FORMS TO THE DEAN'S OFFICES OR
TO THE REGISTRAR'S OFFICE. |
If
you attended Binghamton University and need
a bar certification:
|
Send to: Heather
C Struck |
| If you have any history
of disciplinary (including academic honesty)
or criminal violations, it is best to disclose
the specifics when you apply for admission
to the bar, even if records describing the
conduct have been expunged. Failure to disclose
is considered a serious form of applicant
misconduct and can result in consequences
including denial of bar admission or disbarment.
The Pre-law Advisor is available to discuss
these issues and can advise you on how best
to disclose them on your bar application.
|
PLEASE NOTE: as of January
1, 2003, certificates of undergraduate study
are NO LONGER REQUIRED by the four New York
State Judicial Departments for NYS bar applicants.
Please go to www.nybarexam.org
to verify the applicable requirements. Some
paper applications received by NYS bar applicants
still contain the undergraduate bar certification
forms-you no longer need to request Binghamton
University to complete this form. |
